Created in 1973 by the homonymous German designer who is known for minimal and essential lines, Jil Sander is one of those brands to which the change of hands of the founder has made a little ‘lose course and customers. The arrival of an Italian manager, however (Alessandra Bettari, two years ago) and, since last season, the stylistic duo Lucie and Luke Meier, have changed everything.
In fact, the Autumn / Winter that has just begun in Milan, has all the features to revive the hopes of the many fans of the label. Here is a collection that the English would call cozy: cozy, intimate, warm and enveloping. Lines remain essential, but with a special softness, touches of red and blue enliven the prevailing dusty colors and an unprecedented floral fantasy breaks the uniformity of the monocolour.
“From the hair point of view of, Jil Sander overturns the classic concept of the simple braid from the catwalk making it the protagonist using two simple tricks – comments Mauro Galzignato, Director of Kemon collections -. The first is the texture contrast: superwetlook, adherent to the head and matt over the entire length of the braid; the second, to enhance the classic weave that normally sits softly on the shoulders, is the insertion of wire inside, which allows to model to defy gravity, thus creating a fake movement “.
