Illustration: Joy Alone by Olaf Hajek

Olaf Hajek’s

Illustration is an art somewhere in between advertising and painting. It makes use of many languages and uses them in a harmonious, coexistent way.
This is the direction that the thoughts and work of German artist Olaf Hajek have taken as one of the most famous illustrators in the world. In his images
there are modern and Renaissance influences, echoes of 17th-century Dutch still lifes together with African and South American echoes.
In Joy Alone, nature and the human figure merge together. The eyes and hands of Joy become a flower and leaf. In this epiphany, for a moment, the human and natural worlds begin to dialogue again. And the moment of meditation and union culminates in a solitary joy.
