In this book, EDGE stands for Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered. In it, you’ll meet 11 animals that are in danger of going extinct. This includes the pygmy hippopotamus, the long-beaked echidna, and the bumblebee bat. You’ll also meet the scientists who are working hard to find and save these creatures as they travel the world, from the Yangtze River in China to the forests of Madagascar.

This book really introduces you to rare, endangered animals. I like the large, up-close pictures most of all. The book was fun to read. There were lots of nice chunks of information everywhere, and I liked the labeled maps. They helped me see where the animals were in the world. If you love to read and are interested in endangered animals, this is the book for you. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10.
