Join Special Investigator Casey as he investigates the inner workings of his home. He goes through 16 case files, such as “Outgoing Evidence” (where water goes once it leaves the sink or tub) and “Zapped” (how electricity arrives in your home). Each case file is explained in a two-page spread on which Casey presents Facts, Questions, and My Theory. A final spread “Agents of Tomorrow”, describes how the inner workings of our homes may change in the future.

The topic was cool because I love finding out how things work. My dad lets me help him when he fixes wires and leaking taps and stuff like that. I really liked the diagrams in this book. I learned a lot about how things in our house work just by looking at the illustrations. The best part about this book is that I found out lots of neat information, like how taps leak and why the stink from the sewer pipe doesn’t come up out of the toilet. (I’m really glad about this!) My mum helped me read this book because there are a lot of words in it, but I enjoyed it.
