Bats are blind, right? Actually, no, they’re not. This book explores some of the myths or half-truths you often hear about misunderstood animals, such as bats, pigs, bears, and sharks. The author explores false information and explains the science behind certain behaviours. For example, while it’s true that pigs can be pretty dirty, they wallow in mud for a good reason. When they’re hot, pigs can’t sweat. Instead, they cool off with a mud bath. Tell that to the next person who tells you they’re “sweating like a pig”!

This book was full of lots of surprising facts about animals, like spiders and fish, that I didn’t know before. It’s a good book to learn all kinds of interesting things about animals like wolves, bats, sharks, owls, and many others. I learned that some sharks are as small as a candy bar. The book explained that wolves aren’t bad, as some people think. But I already knew that because they are my favourite animal. The book had cool drawings and photos of animals on every page. Some were funny, like the bear sitting at a table eating a road-kill raccoon!
