A tiny lemur you could cradle in your hand, a lizard smaller than a dime, a bright red jellyfish as wide as your outstretched arms. These are just a few new species discovered recently. There are about 1.7 million known species, but scientists think there are five to 100 million more out in the world! Strange New Species takes you on a journey with researchers as they use everything from submarines to spaghetti strainers to find new life forms.

This is a science book that describes strange new species and the scientists who look for them. I thought the book looked inviting to read. I found all of the topics interesting and the photographs were beautiful. I didn’t know there were so many cool species in the world! (My mom thought it was neat that so many of these species were discovered recently.) I had a lot of fun reading this book, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
