Where did the word robot come from?

The word “robot” comes from the Czech word “robota”, which means forced work or drudgery. (That’s boring work.) It was first used in 1921 in a play, Rossum’s Universal Robots. In the play, robots have emotions — they can laugh and cry; be angry or scared. In the end, the robots rebel against the humans and start their own society.
