The Oscars of world TV last night saw one of their most ‘political’ editions to date. On the stage of the Microsoft Theatre in Hollywood against a neo-conservative political context that has called into question some of the civil rights of women and minorities, the jury decided to give prizes to two series that revolve all around violence against women: The Handmaid’s Tale and Big Little Lies (outstanding drama series and outstanding limited series).
Women received prizes onstage and were also responsible for a glittering and very glamourous red carpet even if, from a fashion perspective, ‘there weren’t the usual indications of next season’s trends, but rather a confirmation of everything that has characterised this spring/summer’, explains Mauro Galzignato, creative director of The Italian Touch. And so we have the somewhat deconstructed waves of Robin Wright and Dylan Penn, Millie Bobby Brown and Sarah Paulson’s up-dos with centre parting and Lea Michele’s wet look with shine effect. The last breath of summer whose influence extends towards the coming autumn season.
