The red carpet of the 74th Venice International Film Festival is, as always, a platform for new trends and exposure for labels and celebrities. Among the beautiful women who make the most of this opportunity to flaunt classic eveningwear, with half-up half-down hairdos or more or less accentuated waves, the leading ladies from the “over” club stand out for their naturalness, class and self-awareness: Susan Sarandon, Judi Dench and Helen Mirren personify elegance with styles, forms and tones that bring out the beauty of the older woman.
“Judi Dench’s short cropped cut and Helen Mirren’s carefree graduated bob add character to the natural white of their gowns, a choice which may seem easy at first but which in fact requires a great deal of care. Susan Sarandon’s simple ponytail is enhanced by intense copper tones which are already a trend for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season,” explains Mauro Galzignato, Creative Director of The Italian Touch.
Out of competition, not only in terms of film but also in terms of look, the Golden Lion for career achievement goes to Jane Fonda, who remains faithful to the hairstyle that made her an icon and that hints at the return of the 70s trend in the coming season.
