GUCCI // Cruise 2018 Hair&Style

"I've never seen such a plenty of hair fashion accessories all at once" (Mauro Galzignato)

LOCATION // Galleria Palatina, Palazzo Pitti, Florence. After the ‘No’ received by the managers of the Athenian Parthenon, Gucci presents its Cruise 2018 in the splendid museum, among works from the 16th and 17th century, and a sound-track from the period played live on the harp. In exchange, two million euros have been donated by the brand to restore the Boboli Gardens: “The green of the gardens will flower again and it will be restored to its historical status as the Italian Versailles”, Erike Schmidt, director of the Uffizi commented, presenting the initiative. The list of VIP guests is infinite: among the names are Elton John, Kirsten Dunst, Jared Leto, Dakota Johnson, Salma Hayek and her husband Francois Henry Pinault…

LOOK // Opulent and full of different influences, in complete harmony with the aesthetic and artistic richness of the hall that hosts the event, the collection mixes again all the themes beloved of Michele. Luxurious embroidery, colours, furs and sequins, mixtures of styles, genres, epochs and different suggestions, insects and flowers, stripes and metallic fabrics.

HAIR LOOK & ACCESSORIES // Accessories are the undoubted protagonist, and presented above all on the head, as never before: laurel tiaras, hair clips, headbands, scarves, hats, caps and nets encrusted with pearls. There are two main lines: an almost fastidious homage to the style of the Renaissance, rich and full of chiaroscuro, lights and shadows, or the world of the seventies, with its air of freedom that sees naturally styled hair that is suited to accessories that render it a protagonist.
