Beverly Hilton Hotel, 74th Annual Golden Globes. Last night, the Hollywood Foreign Press awarded the honour that most consider to predict big Academy Award wins.
The evening’s absolute winner was La La Land, the musical comedy directed by 31-year-old Damien Chazelle: with seven prizes, it broke the record for most wins by a movie including director, screenplay and actors (Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling). Gosling’s acceptance speech, in which he paid tribute to his “Lady” who, being pregnant of their second daughter, took care of their first kid and her ill brother while he was on set, brought tears to everyone’s eyes. La La Land is heading to Italian cinemas on 26th January.
Look-wise, we saw the dominance of silver and gold, metallic sequins and crystals. Quite surprisingly, the colour that prevailed on the red carpet was yellow. There were many examples of loose, long hair with gentle waves, and natural, tied-back hair too. Sarah Jessica Parker paid an unconvincing tribute to Carrie Fisher, with a flowing white gown and a complicated Princess Leia-esque braid.
Next on the list: 26th February, Academy Awards 2017.
